Make it your New Year’s resolution to join MilwauCHI for a Nibble and Network event on Wednesday, January 19 from 5:30 to 7:30 in the Mayfair Mall community room. Have a drink (beer, wine, and soft drinks provided), nosh on some appetizers, and hobnob with other like-minded professionals. Participate in our Idea Market, where you’ll be able to chat with representatives from top local companies and organizations about user experience, usability, and other topics of interest to the CHI community.

Turn into Mayfair Mall using the Center Street light. Drive around the perimeter road until you get to the AMC theater. The entrance is on the first floor, under the covered parking structure. On entering the mall, look for the Garden Suites / Security Office sign—go through the glass doors and the meeting room is at the bottom of the stairs, just along the hall. Agile Web Analytics: Tracking What Matters to Improve Site Usability and Performance.
Time is, of course, money. If you really want to see an ROI from web analytics, you need to reduce the time to insight. This may mean slaughtering some sacred cows and taking a fresh look at what you’re tracking, why, and how. In this presentation, Brian Molstad will outline ways to abandon bureaucracy and obligatory reports, take action faster, and point out why more automation is not always the answer. Find out which reports and functions in Google Analytics lead to insight and how to avoid useless aggregate metrics. In addition, you’ll learn how web analytics can be a valuable addition to the user centered design process and why usability practitioners are well-suited for implementing web analytics methodologies within their organizations.
